Set up brain.md in Goose

communitystreamable_httpunknown

Local-first markdown notes with a first-class MCP server. 16 tools + 2 resources for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor and any MCP agent. Per-folder permissions, semantic RAG via LanceDB, single Bun binary. AGPL.

01Configuration
{ "mcpServers": { "brain-md": { "command": "npx", "args": [ "-y", "mcp-remote", "https://brainmd.example.com/mcp" ] } } }

Remote server. This uses the mcp-remote bridge so Goose can reach the hosted endpoint. Add it to ~/.config/goose/config.yaml.

02Steps
  1. Make sure Goose is installed and up to date.
  2. Open ~/.config/goose/config.yaml and add the block above (merge into any existing mcpServers).
  3. Provide any required API keys/credentials as environment variables.
  4. Restart Goose and confirm brain.md’s tools appear.
